Child-Minder/child Care Provider

Under the general supervision of the Head of Office and the direct supervision of the COA Coordinator, the incumbent’s responsibilities will include the following:   Ensure a safe and adequate learning environment for refugee children under 12 years old, in various locations where COA is delivered.   Provide basic information about Canada, suitable to various ages, through educational games and entertainment.   Organize and take part in leisure activities with children, including games, crafts etc. using the materials provided.   Teach children about the basic concepts of making new friends (with each other and in their new country).   Introduce basic literacy activities, in English or French (alphabet and numbers), as well as greetings and common words.
