Arab NGO Network for Development Job Opening Web Developer/Consultant   Overview The Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND) is a regional network, working in 12 Arab countries with nine national networks (with an extended membership of 250 CSOs from different backgrounds) and 23 NGO members. ANND was established in 1997 and its headquarters is located in Beirut, Lebanon since 2000. ANND aims at strengthening the role of civil society, enhancing the values of democracy, respect of human rights and sustainable development in the region. ANND advocates for more sound and effective socio-economic reforms in the region, which integrate the concepts of sustainable development, gender justice, and the rights-based approach.   Job Opening The Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND) is calling for applications for a Web Developer on a consultancy basis to support its existing websites and portals and help in building new websites that the Network has in its future development plans. The desired developer will be working in direct coordination with the Network’s communication coordinator to ensure timely and accurate response to the Network’s needs in managing its web presence.   The Web Developer’s tasks will be divided into two sections: 1-      Maintenance and Support 2-      Website Design and Development   Part 1: Maintenance and Support.   Web Developer Responsibilities: Tailoring websites to specific industry context and scale of operations. Making sure that websites are functional and user-friendly across platforms. Ensuring that websites are in step with ever-changing technical requirements and design standards. Providing with a minimum of twenty hours of service per month. Offering priority status—committing to responding to requests in under twenty-four hours and completing update or maintenance projects in less than one week.   Web Developer Tasks: Maintain and update websites front end and back end according to Network requirements Provide easy to use tools to maintain, update and mass mail monthly e-newsletters (3 total) Building Interactive Multimedia CDs for workshops Maintain and manage Web server to ensure website(s) and hosting up time and up to date Provide technical consultation regarding Web presence and applications Online Forms, Surveys, User management or any kind of Web Applications related to website(s). Assemble detailed and customized reports that show how the online design world is changing and how the websites should change with it. These reports will help guide decision-making and direct on-the-fly changes to the consulting service package.   Part 2: Website Design and Development   Web developer will be in charge of building two websites using web software of choice that ensure an appealing, user-friendly and functional website that can be easily modified to fit our needs and requirements. Tasks will include but are not limited to:   Front end: Web Design Categories & Sectioning System Dynamic Pages Contact Us form and Google Maps integration Keyword Search Newsletter System Multimedia Section   Back end Add, Update & Delete Categories and Sections Update Dynamic Pages Content Add, Update & Delete Newsletters Manage Multimedia Items   Interested applicants are to send their resumes no later than Friday July 3rd with (Web Developer/Consultant) in the subject domain to:   annd@annd.org
