Minimum required knowledge & experience: High school level 2 - 3 years work experience in similar function including experience in nursing Good knowledge of spoken English Formal qualification Standard function description: Assists the nurse Executes simple tasks which require no specific qualifications under supervision SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES · Nurse assistant provides basic nursing care to patients on surgical ward · He/she focuses on wellbeing of patients during their hospitalization · Assists the registered nurse with all related nursing care activities · Reports to the ward nurse any eventful physical and or psychological change in patient’s condition · Assists patient with his-her toilet needs when needed · Assists patient in maintaining personal hygiene when needed · Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when needed · Prepares patient’s bed and room · Collects dirty linen and disposes as per the hospital’s policies and procedures · Receives clean linen, ensures integrity of linen, and quantity received and stores appropriately · Assists registered nurse performs patient care activities when needed · Transports patient to X-ray department, etc. … · Performs other duties as directed by the registered nurse · Applies Universal Precaution Techniques · Abides by ICRC policies and procedures
