Under the overall supervision of the Head of IOM Office in Lebanon and the Health Programme Officer at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Beirut, and the technical direction of the National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) Coordinator of MOPH Lebanon, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for implementing activities within the framework of the project “Enhancing Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment for Syrian Refugees and Other Vulnerable Populations Affected by the Syrian Crisis in Lebanon” funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria’s Emergency Fund Mechanism.
In particular, he/she will have the following tasks:
Provide clinical care for all the patients arriving at the NTP center including but not limited to taking vital signs and administering PPD test.
Provide assistance to physicians when needed.
Create medical records for new cases, update records for the follow up ones and ensure proper archiving of these records.
Abide by the guidelines and clinical practices of the National Tuberculosis Program.
Facilitate the transport of sputum samples and other specimen types between the NTP center and Karantina center and/or other locations as instructed.
Communicate to DOT workers any new cases that need follow up.
Give TB medications to patients residing in Baabda, Kesrwan and Metn areas if needed
Facilitate the transfer of patients to sanatorium if needed.
Participate in assessments/surveys of the beneficiaries’ health needs and needs of the supported tuberculosis centers.
Report back to the physician at the NTP center; the staff will be evaluated by the NTP physician in charge on a regular basis to ensure proper completion of assigned tasks.
