Engineer

Under the overall supervision of the Head of IOM Office in Lebanon and the Health Programme Officer at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Beirut, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for implementing activities within the framework of the project “Enhancing Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment for Syrian Refugees and Other Vulnerable Populations Affected by the Syrian Crisis in Lebanon” funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria’s Emergency Fund Mechanism. In particular, he/she will do the following:   Perform structural assessment on National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) centers    prior to rehabilitation   Prepare building profile sheets for each of the assessed structures, showing the needed works and providing estimated costs, and compiling bill of quantities to be sent by the procurement unit to different contractors seeking offers.   Assist the project management staff in analysing bids and choosing the best contractors (from the technical point of view) to undertake rehabilitation or construction works.   Undertake regular site visits to supervise rehabilitation and construction works performed by selected contractors.   Perform quality check and sign off upon completion of activities each of the rehabilitated/constructed structures to ensure that the work completed is satisfactory and habitable before releasing the last payment to the contractor.   Provide technical advices in his/her area of expertise, whenever needed, to different IOM projects   Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
