The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobThe SOO’s responsibility is to be responsible for and monitor the overall security situation, enforce security regulations and provide sound and timely advice to DRC staff and management in order to support the safe and efficient delivery of program activities in the designated area of operations. In addition to this, the SOO will provide general operations support to the Area Operations Manager. Duties• Supervise the regular conduct of Security Risk Assessments (SRAs) as per DRC policy• Supervise the monthly assessment of the Minimum Operating Safety Standards (MOSS) and Safety Level System (SLS)• Manage the WhatsApp alert networks in assigned areas of responsibility• Monitor the evolving situation in the area of DRC operations in coordination with other actors as per regional, country and program guidelines• Establish a network of contacts and represent DRC at security meetings• Track security related incidents and developments and provide trend/pattern analysis• Identify indicators and key decision points, and link them to the SRA and security phases• Assist in training program staff on security procedures, as required • Supervise the implementation of regional security policies, protocols and procedures related to the safe implementation of program activities• Supervise and monitor the development and implementation of context specific MOSS• Supervise the implementation of physical and asset protection protocols and regulations• Conduct site assessments and advise on mitigation measures, as required• Oversee all tasks related to asset management including maintaining the asset register, asset cards and personal issue forms. Perform a quarterly physical asset check.• Assist with stock management tasks including ensuring stock documentation is maintained in accordance with DRC policies, overseeing deliveries to and dispatches from DRC and checking stocks levels• Oversee the compilation of regular fuel consumption reports and monthly vehicle utilization analysis and ensure adherence to DRC Lebanon vehicle policy   About youEssential qualifications: • Tertiary education (Bachelor minimum) in communication, politics, risk or other related field• 1 – 3 Experience working with NGOs, other international agencies or multinational business• Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines • Stable, moral and robust character and a good team-player• Excellent communication skills, calm and a good sense of humor• Proven commitment to accountability practices• Strong information technology skills• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs.
