Coaches For Ibesp Project

AMIDEAST has full-time positions available for “Coaches.”   Project Description: The Improved Basic Education Services Program (IBESP) aims to expand equitable access and improve learning outcomes for vulnerable students in Lebanese public schools. IBESP is a three-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project comprises three key components.   Position Description: AMIDEAST is responsible for professional development through school-based teams across the different elements of Component 2 of IBESP: Expanding access to safe and relevant education for vulnerable public school students. Coaches will be responsible for a group of approximately 10 schools each, and are required to build a relationship of trust and counseling with the schools to which they are assigned to achieve their set goals. These positions are field-based with locations anticipated in all regions of Lebanon. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:   Visiting schools bi-weekly. Mentoring and coaching school personnel and assisting in developing project interventions and identifying expert workshop needs Assisting school personnel in identifying barriers to access and areas of professional development needed Coordinating closely with education liaisons who will be addressing the barriers to access in the communities where these schools are located Submitting daily updates on project activities, school personnel progress, and any key developments or challenges related to school personnel or project deliverables Administering data collection tools needed for grant disbursement Working closely with the education liaisons to forge local partnerships toward successful grant application within the project. Required Qualifications: BA degree in Education, Public Administration, Management, Sociology, Psychology or other relevant field Master’s degree in Education, Public Administration or Business Management; PHD in Education, Sociology, or Psychology preferred Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience Experience in training and facilitation or coaching Knowledge of Lebanese public schools and the public educational system Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet Excellent organizational, managerial, interpersonal, and communication skills Lebanese citizenship Ability and willingness to commit to the 3-year project Willingness to work flexible hours/afternoon shifts as well as on Saturdays if needed Willingness to work in the different regions of Lebanon Fluency in Arabic and English required; fluency in French preferred Available to begin work immediately   Resumes and cover letters should be sent to: lebanon@amideast.org  with “IBESP Coaches” in the subject line.
