Main duties :
In accordance with established policy and procedures, the main responsibilities of the Project Manager include:
Develop a work plan, timeline, budget and monitoring tools, and ensure all activities are performed and implemented according to these planning tools
Manage the daily implementation of the project activities
Manage and provide guidance to staff working under the project
Liaise with donors, partner NGOs and other actors at field level under the supervision of the Head of program
Comply with all logistics, financial, HR and administrative procedures
Carry out other duties as required
Tasks :
Weekly schedule activities with staff
Weekly report on the activities
Attend donors and partners meetings and prepare minutes of meeting
Review and finalize program reports
Support in drafting proposal when required
Control the project implementation and quality of the activities through field visits
Implement effective coordination and communication within the team
Plan meetings on a regular basis with the team
Ensure that staff is provided with the required trainings as per the program’s requirements and needs
Consults with project accountant and finance manager regarding best practices for financial administration of project work
Responsibilities:
The program manager is expected to contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organisation, notably through the application of CLMC’s mandate, ethics, values and stand-point with regard to other actors:
Guide the implementation of the project and the methods of follow-up
Assess the activities undertaken and ensure efficient use of resources
Create and update work-plan and PM framework for the project
Identify relevant technical authorities and partners, and propose formal partnership and/or contracts
Propose and implement solutions to problems encountered
Organise and lead project coordination meetings
Prepare and follow work plans with each project coordinator
Ensure a positive working environment and good team dynamics (solve out potential conflicts)
Direct the conduct of the project using the monitoring tools and procedures
Plan the procurement in coordination with the relevant persons
Interact with the communications officer, training unit, M&E officer, and other key program staff
Qualifications/Requirements:
Advanced degree in social work, social sciences or other relevant field
At least 10 years of managerial experience implementing donor funded projects
Previous experience or understanding of the NGO and INGO environmental sector, preferred experience in the field of refugees and/or migrants
Preferred prior experience with UN agencies or USG projects
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrates energy and creativity, and ability to successfully prioritize and manage competing priorities
Demonstrated success in project planning, financial management, program monitoring, and report writing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in data processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel), E-mail, and Internet browser software
Strong English skills (spoken and written)
