We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to assist to fill up the position of Protection Monitoring Officer in Tripoli office. Who are weDRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobThe Protection Monitoring Officer will implement and monitor DRC protection program, including protection monitoring and advocacy, community-based protection assistance to persons with specific needs in Tripoli Duties• Supervise mobile teams of Protection Monitoring and Protection Desks Assistants in urban and rural settings; • Organize day-to-day time management and work of the team according to each staff TOR. (incl. development of weekly schedule and staff work plan); • Receive referrals from different agencies, prioritize type of assistance to be provided, assign referrals to protection assistants and ensure timely individual protection assistance and follow up is provided;• Ensure Protection components are on track, including the development of protection monitoring tools in coordination with the Protection Manager These components include protection monitoring and residual individual protection assistance; • Link the protection monitoring program to  localized advocacy groups and other  relevant local stakeholders (incl. the Community-based Networks organized through the municipalities by DRC, service providers, etc.) where applicable; • Contribute to the overall protection weekly/monthly report underlining protection issues and related trends and figures in coordination with the Protection Manager;• Maintain and update database protection monitoring; • Coordinate with all relevant local and international protection stakeholders; • Work with closely with PSS and Capacity building officers to ensure GBV/Child protection prevention and response is adequately addressed across sectors and humanitarian interventions;• Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the Protection Manager. About youa) To be successful in this role you must have Bachelor in Social work, political science, law or related field; Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility in working overtime when needed; Fluency in Arabic and English required; Minimum three years experience in related field; Experience managing teams; Experience providing trainings and building capacity of staff Ideally you will also have Master degree in Law, Human rights or other related field; Excellent reporting skills; Previous experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings; Previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from Mid-June 2015 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
