Junior Engineer

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervision the progress of infrastructural activities for GVC projects; Guarantee smooth implementation of infrastructural activities between the Contractors and the Communities; Guarantee that all the technical documentation is properly filled, updated and classified; Support in preparation for the technical documentation for tender dossiers; Develop a certain degree of autonomy in managing issues related to the daily implementation of the activities; Keep herself/himself up-to-date on sectorial working groups’ and local authorities’ news, reports, recommendations, and requirements, etc. Establish contacts with counterparts (technical co-ordinators from other humanitarian agencies) and share with them techniques, knowledge, approaches related to construction works; To coordinate with Project Managers and Local coordinator for daily implementation of the activities Report to and discuss with the PM and Local Coordinator any technical issues which may have a direct impact on the general implementation of the project and the organisation’s activities in the area; Undertake any other technical duties as requested by the PM. PERSONAL AND INTER-PERSONAL SKILLS Arabic and Fluency in written and spoken English Good communication skills Understanding of and commitment to humanitarian principles and values Highly organised and able to work respecting deadlines Strong sense of responsibility Ability to work independently while at the same time cooperating with other staff members as well as beneficiaries Deep knowledge of North Bekaa would be considered an asset Being flexible and with the ability to adjust to changes and new requirements / Ability to multitask
