Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator will be in charge of implementing an education project in Akkar. The Project Coordinator will report to the Executive Coordinator     Internal interfaces -      Executive Coordinator -      Financial and administrative team -      Field coordinator Akkar    External interfaces -     Donor -      Key stakeholders in local community -      Local authorities   Specific Responsibilities: -  Coordinate the overall planning and implementation of the project in Akkar, ensuring deliverables are achieved and suggest areas for improvement in the project implementation processes -  Coordinate and monitor ensuring that policies and procedures are followed; project activities are being accomplished on time and to agreed quality standards, guaranteeing the realization of project goals. -  Compile all monitoring, reporting and financial records for the project, merging the data’s and templates and preparing progress and interim and final narrative reports for the Donor. - Record progress and submit timely (weekly and monthly) reports, implementation records, activity reports, minutes of meetings, financial spending, etc... -  Identify shortfalls and obstacles in the implementation of planned activities that would require immediate action and propose relevant recommendations and corrective measures -  Monitor expenditures and track activity expenses, providing supporting documents, quotations and invoices in accordance with donor requirements - Attend weekly coordination meeting in Hrar Mada’s office and  monthly coordination meeting in Ain Remaneh Mada’s office.    Education and experience - Master Degree in Social Science, Education, Project Management or any other relevant field. - Minimum 5 years field experience of which 3 years coordination experience Skills required - Experience in project and budget management preferable with NGO background -  Experience in community mobilization in deprived rural communities - Good knowledge of the area/region and its local customs - Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage project and staff -  Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Analytical and conceptual thinking - Excellent organizational capacities and the ability to multitask (interact with different projects and different people) - Excellent social, interpersonal and problem solving skills -  Ability to plan and prioritize own workload and the work of the team in order to meet tight deadlines with a strong eye on quality -  Ability to work under pressure - Strong monitoring and reporting skills - Initiative, involvement and commitment - Acting in a diplomatic way, representing Mada’s non-religious, non-political and non-sectarian principles and respect for diversity and gender   languages Arabic and English. French is an asset.   Computer skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet   other requirements - Drivers’ license and car   Geographical Location Akkar
