  Position Title: Driver (5 positions)Level: GS-2Duty Stations: Beirut, Zahle, Tripoli, Qobayat, TyreContract Type: Temporary Appointment for 364 days. PURPOSE OF THE POST Operate and maintain office vehicle(s), and drive staff and visitors. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Drives office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.2. Meets official personnel at the airport and facilitates immigration and customs formalities, as required.3. Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs. Ensures that the vehicle is kept clean.  4. Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc. 5. Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken, in case of involvement in an accident.   6. Performs other duties, as required. WORKING CONDITIONSField travel. IMPACT AND CONSEQUENCE OF ERRORWork priorities and alternative courses of action to meet deadlines/objectives are performed according to the established schedule determined by the supervisor. Recommendations on the state of repair of vehicles and decisions regarding travel time and route may affect timeliness and work of other individuals in the office.Failure to report on the timely repair of vehicles, adherence to traffic rules and established procedures and assigned responsibilities would affect the individual’s work performance or that of the assigned unit. In extreme cases could affect the safety and security of the vehicle and travelers. REVIEW OF WORK Specific and detailed instructions and guidance are provided by the supervisor. Routine tasks are performed independently. Fulfillment of individual assignments is immediately checked upon completion of work.
