Nutrition Surveillance And Monitoring Coordinator

International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland is the official humanitarian relief agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America.  Since its inception in 1992, IOCC has delivered $488 million in relief and development programs to families and communities in more than 50 countries. IOCC seeks a full-time motivated Nutrition Surveillance and Monitoring Coordinator who will be responsible for following up and implementing the component related to establishing the nutrition surveillance within the UNICEF-led nutrition program implemented by IOCC in Lebanon. The coordinator is also responsible for ensuring proper monitoring of the nutrition program through proper collection of data and information management. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Represent IOCC and liaise with MoPH information management representative to ensure surveillance system is well established and implemented in PHCs. Develop a workplan for the establishment of a nutrition surveillance in Lebanon in close coordination with the MoPH and in line with the nutrition strategy. Lead the establishment of the nutrition surveillance system including the selection of PHCs that will be part of the surveillance system. Conduct trainings and refreshers on information management and nutrition surveillance for relevant program and PHC staff. Organize surveillance review meetings with relevant staff and partners. Ensure recruitment of staff to support PHCs implementing the nutrition surveillance system. Follow up and provide ongoing technical support on information management and nutrition surveillance. Supervise team at the national level to ensure proper data collection and reporting. Assess, discuss and address component challenges with team and program coordinator. Communicate and liaise internally with other IOCC departments as needed Attend and participate in IOCC meetings and capacity building activities. Submit weekly reports on achievements related to surveillance, prepare monthly/quarterly reports as needed. Represent IOCC in the information management working group and ensure proper reporting within activity info. Report back to Program Coordinator on a regular basis. Perform other duties as required or assigned Qualifications A.    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA):    Self-motivated and initiative taker Organized Strong problem-solving skills and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working condition Proven capacity in management, leadership and teamwork Proven capacity in writing report Proven capacity in training Excellent communication skills and team building skill Ability to meet deadlines Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint Willingness to use personal car and to frequently travel to the field.  Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English    B.    Education:   B.Sc. in Public Health, Nutrition or relevant field. MSc. Is a plus.  C.    Experience:   At least 3 years work experience; or 1 year work experience with M.Sc. Previous experience in NGO, and humanitarian field is an advantage Previous experience in information management and health information systems.
