Fe-Male, a non-profit association founded in 2012 by a group of young women and human rights activists; a civil non-sectarian Lebanese association that works under the umbrella of Human Rights Charter to ensure women’s rights as integral part of human rights; raising awareness through mass and social media, empowerment, elimination of stereotyping and objectification of women, and changing laws are our objectives and our methods of work. Fe-Male and ActionAid Denmark-Arab Regional Initiative (AA ARI), seek an experienced consultant to conduct a legal study on Women’s Image in Media and Ads in Lebanon. The study should be completed by the 31stof July 2015. Under the direct supervision of Fe-Male, the consultant will: 1)      Prepare a general overview and analysis from a feminist perspective for the image portrayed for women in Lebanese media and ads. 2)    Undertake a desk research process to collect information about all the laws that mention or put restrictions related to women’s image in media and ads, good experiences from other countries and a kind of comparison between Lebanon and other Arab countries who were able to make advancement in this domain. 3)     Provide recommendations on how to make use of existing laws or even if there is a need for preparing special law that can help stop the use of objectified women in media and ads. 4)    Produce a Memorandum of understanding with clear recommendations calling for ending the trend of objectification of women in media and ads.
