Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator will be in charge of Mada’s activities within the project “Improved livelihoods for underprivileged women in North Lebanon” funded by European Union and implemented in partnership with the René Moawad Foundation, DOT, CFUWI and FTL. The project aims to empower women in Akkar and Donnieh regions through facilitating access to existing services, instrumental for increasing their participation in economic growth and their understanding of women’s economic rights. Through a series of trainings, workshops and events, the project seeks to empower women community activists, members of women committees and cooperatives as well as owners and managers of SME’s, with knowledge and skills in ICT (Information & communication technology) and develop women’s cooperative and women’s small businesses management skills. In addition, the project seeks to raise women’s awareness on gender issues and increase their access to economic rights. The Project Coordinator is responsible to manage and monitor the part of the project that Mada is responsible of, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed; project activities are being accomplished on time, according the planned budget and to agreed quality standards, guaranteeing the realization of project goals.    Internal interfaces -    Field Coordinator -    Mada’s Executive Coordinator -    Administrative and Financial Coordinator -    Administrative Assistant -    Mada’s team in Akkar   External interfaces -    Project Director (RMF) -    Field Coordinators (RMF) -    RMF’s administrative and financial team -    Partners/Technical advisors (CFUWI, DOT, FTL) -    Women committees/association, SMEs, cooperatives -    Municipal representatives -    Local NGOs -    Consultants   TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES Task 1: Coordinate project implementation and supervise a Field Coordinator - Provide technical support and guidance to the Field Coordinator in the process of planning and implementing activities on the field level. - Supervise the implementation of social and economic community initiatives implemented by women cooperatives, associations/committees and SMEs within the framework of the project. - Travel between the Beirut office and the field in order to be constantly involved in the implementation of activities in the field as well as maintain contact with the partners. - Follow-up with the Field Coordinator in the planning of training sessions and events.   Task 2: Monitor project implementation -  Maintain and follow-up on the ongoing ‘Monitoring and Evaluation Plan’ approved by the Project Management Unit, which entails the preparation of monitoring tools to be filled by each partner by the end of the month. -  Participate in the PMU meetings, draft agenda and produce minutes of meetings. -  Supervise the final external evaluation. -  Hold regular meetings with the partners involved in the project -   Hold regular meetings with all the stakeholders involved in the project (women’s association/ committees, SMEs, cooperatives, local authorities, community leaders, local NGOs, etc.) -  Identify shortfalls and obstacles in the implementation of planned activities that would require immediate action and propose relevant recommendations and corrective measures. -   Hold weekly monitoring visits to Akkar, in addition to collecting output and impact indicators as well as beneficiaries’ opinions and experiences -  Continually Work with project partners and staff to incorporate appropriate monitoring and reporting systems for the monitoring of activities and outputs. This includes developing appropriate data collection systems and tools, outlining monitoring responsibilities and designing reporting forms and systems.  -  Ensure that appropriate budget management practices are followed and all financial reporting practices are in line with donor requirements in coordination with the Financial Coordinator -  Keep accurate recording and archiving of all activities, including financial records, data, pictures, attendance sheets, activity reports, correspondence, etc.   Task 3: Reporting -  Preparation of high quality quarterly progress reports and final report (financial and operational) to be submitted to the donor. -   Record progress and submit timely (monthly) reports, implementation records, activity reports, minutes of meetings, financial spending, etc.   Task 4: Other tasks  -  Supervise all administrative and financial matters in accordance with Mada’s and donor requirements. -   Keep accurate recording and archiving of all activities, including financial records, data, pictures, attendance sheets, activity reports, correspondence, etc. -   Participate in Mada’s coordination meetings    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED - Excellent knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies - Knowledge and experience with donor reporting requirements -  Knowledge of the developmental sector in Lebanon and experience in working with NGOs -  Familiarity with socio-economic and educational context of deprived rural communities in Lebanon -  Ability to analyse and synthesize and excellent reporting skills according to donor standards -  Excellent social and interpersonal skills -  Team work spirit -  Initiative, involvement and commitment -  Ability to commit to deadlines and produce quality work in a short timeframe -  Ability to travel between Beirut and Akkar   COMPUTER SKILLS - Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet browsing
