Infant And Young Child Feeding (Iycf) Field Supervisor

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Support and monitor the assessments on IYCF practices and identification of implementing sites. Support and monitor the implementation of nutrition and psychosocial activities provided to beneficiaries. DETAILED OBJECTIVES AND TASKS Objective 1: Needs analysis and adapting approaches to cultural context: In collaboration with field officer and social workers, assess on a regular basis IYCF practices among the Syrian refugee community settled in the intervention area; Identifying good practices and the practices that need improvement among the Syrian community and adapt the program tools accordingly. Objective 2: Set up and follow up of IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding) and Psychosocial Support Program Participate in defining activity planning Participate in defining activities tools Identify and analyse the on-going of activities and propose changes if needed. Ensure initial and on-going training of staff in charge of the activities on Infant and Young Children Feeding practices, breastfeeding support psychosocial support and community mobilization Follow-up of nutrition activities (group session, breastfeeding support, growth monitoring, screening…), psychosocial & psychological activities and community-based activities. Collect data on the activities and analyse them Participate and set up any other nutrition activities that could be identify according to the beneficiaries needs or linked to the nutritional situation. Actively coordinate with ACF WaSH and Assessment department for the introduction of IYCF activities within their activities Objective 3: Program Management Ensure that the nutrition programme consumable commodities are well managed. Assist timely order, procurement and supply of essential commodities and supplies for the nutrition programme ( orders, transportation, and storage may be weekly, monthly or quarterly as agreed at the base level) Assist in the identification of gaps in programme management and training needs to be met. Elaborating the monthly treasury forecast of the activities of the program  Identifying and collaborating with the department of logistics in the definition of the requests of materials, forecasted in the donor’s contract and according to the program’s needs. Objective 4: Team Management Organizing team meeting Participate in recruiting staff; Realise regular appraisal for each team member Define professional objectives; Evaluate team training needs and realize the training Objective 5: Reporting and coordination Realize a weekly and monthly report Provide a weekly planning for the whole team Participate to external reports if needed Participate to donors report Liaise with authorities and take contacts with the local health system in order to ensure the on-going and eventual development of the activities. Coordination with others ACF program Participate to external coordination if requested Assist in the maintenance of regular liaison, collaboration and coordination with the partner organization at field level. Assist in the maintenance and functioning of  a proper coordination and referral system with MoPH and other NGOs working in the area (referral of SAM/MAM and other medical treatment of all beneficiaries of the nutrition programme) Assist in the constant M&E of the programme components Due to the emergency context, the Field supervisor may be requested to participate to any other nutrition, mental health and care practices activities who could be identify according to the beneficiaries needs and the humanitarian situation PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / DESIRABLE Experience on project implementation and management is request. Knowledge in Infant and Young Children Feeding and on Psychosocial support will be highly appreciated. At least 2 years of experience in a related field.
