Psychiatrist Consultant

Main purpose: To provide psychiatric diagnosis and treatment to the patients followed by the Mental Health Team (psychologist) of the Project, and suffering from severe and common psychiatric disorders.   Main tasks : -  Conduct a complete psychiatric assessment/diagnosis to the patients referred by the psychologist;   -  Provide treatment for psychiatric cases that are in need of drug treatment, and ensure a comprehensive mental health care according to the clinics’ protocols and guidelines using psychotropic’s drugs from MSF drug list;   -  Run the consultation in an appropriate welcoming and confidential manner;   -  Participate as a member of the mental health team when requested by the Mental Health Activity Manager;   -  Ensure that proper information on treatment and follow up are collected and ensure complete documentation of all cases (whether new or old case) , and encode in the MH database;   -  Establish a good collaboration/communication with the psychologist and medical team of the Project, in order to achieve a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care;   -  Be in charge of case management in case patient needs to be hospitalized. That means, to be responsible to refer and follow the case.     Additional tasks: On request perform any other additional duties given by the immediate supervisor in order to allow the organisation to function optimally;   The work of MSF is characterised by a great flexibility and mobility. The employee understands the MSF Charter and agrees to abide by its principles. And in general each staff member of MSF accepts to work according to the internal regulations.
