Capacity Building Officer

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to coordinate and collaborate with the other protection team. Who are we:DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade , running a combination of livelihood , protection ,advocacy and relief projects .DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Syria , Tunisia/Libya , Turkey , and both a country and regional office in Jordan .Since May 2011, DRC has been actively involved in the Lebanon emergency response to the Syrian crisis with presence in the North, East (Beqaavalley) and South of Lebanon. . The DRC response is designed around 4 majors sectors: Food /NFI distribution, Protection, Shelter and livelihood support. As such, DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of UNHCR,UNICEF,WFP, ECHO and DANIDA, implying a rapid expansion of its program and structure.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• Undertake capacity assessments of the local partners and SDCs on GBV and Child protection  prevention and response activities (including reflection workshops) with the support of the Capacity Building specialist, and in coordination with the line manager; • Develop comprehensive capacity building plans for local partners and SDCs based on respective needs and ensuring quality interventions;• Provide trainings based on the harmonized training packages to local partners and SDCs;• Facilitate trainings on Child protection and GBV prevention and response, as well as general protection principles to DRC’s partners and internal staff;  • Provide technical support to GBV and Child protection case managers (incl. Case conferencing and supervision for high risk cases); • Oversee the provision of trainings on organizational capacity in coordination with CB Specialist, FAM and Operation Manager• Identify technical gaps in the program and identify/implement solutions to meet these gaps; • Ensure the implementation of the capacity building plans; • Produce monthly reports on the progression of the capacity building projects. • Understand and follow up on activities  and assess progress of implementation, provide solutions and report issues when needed, • Contribute to the overall protection/CS weekly/monthly report underlining protection issues and related trends and figures in coordination with the Protection Manager;• Ensure that implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and report on problems in the implementation of the program; • Act as GBVIMS focal points; Support the collection, storage, filing and analysis of GBV-related data through the use of the GBV information management system (GBV IMS).• Supervision of Senior GBV and Child Protection caseworkers About youTo be successful in this role you must have Bachelor in Social work, women’s studies or another related field; NGO experience preferred; Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times; Ability to provide technical support, trainings and supervision of GBV staff; Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail. Knowledge, skills and experience in community development and mobilization. Experience in conducting training needs analysis/assessments and developing training programs for a broad range of audiences from different institutional levels; excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility. Flexibility in working overtime when needed; Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel); Fluency in Arabic required, ability to community and write clearly in English strongly preferred. You must be available to start work from 1st of April 2015 and be willing and able to work in Zahle.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
