Internship (Unpaid) – External Relations Unit - Public Information – Int014 - Beirut

  Depending on the status of implementation of Public Information (PI) projects and the qualifications of the candidate, intern will be requested to assist in PI and admin-related tasks. The work carried out at UNHCR Lebanon will be in compliance with their studies.       Accountability (key results that will be achieved)       The Public Information Intern will be part of the team supporting the PI initiatives in the Office. The Intern will support the PI unit with a wide range of admin-related tasks. The intern will also assist in producing PI material and organizing media missions as needed.               Responsibility: (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)       Assist with admin related tasks including organizing media and other missions (mission requests, hotel bookings, security clearances and briefings) Manage the PI unit’s visibility inventory, including distribution and replenishment Manage and update contact lists on a daily basis Keep track of the unit’s budget requirements/expenditures Prepare briefing kits for external parties Organize regular PI meetings including minute taking Prepare media monitoring reports on a daily basis Assist with PI related tasks including compiling information from various parties and putting together reports Assist with other tasks as needed

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
- Bachelor degree in the field of business administration, political studies, communications or other related fields. 
- The intern is expected to work full time. 
- The intern will have to obtain financing for subsistence and make his/her own arrangements for travel, VISA, accommodation etc.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES.

- Able to communicate effectively with the ability to work independently and in a team; 
- Good in organizing and structuring various tasks and responsibilities; 
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage; 
- Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability; 
- Responds positively to feedback and differing points of view; 
- Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude; 
