The Child Protection Officer will be responsible for the documentation and reporting of the project in coordination with the CP SaWC Manager. One of the additional key responsibilities of the CP officer is to support the street educators implement psychosocial activities for street and working children on a weekly basis. The project is composed of a manager, senior case worker, case worker, three officers (CP officer included) and 2 street educators. Additional tasks will include supporting various administrative, logistic and case management aspects of the program to ensure the smooth running of the project.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide support to the street educators implementing weekly PSS Activities through: the planning of structured PSS activities, special events, basic literacy classes, as well as night shift work (on a rotational basis).
The CP officer will need to ensure that the planning of PSS activities matches procurement plans and procedures to implement PSS activities;
Conduct house visits and follow up on the street with street and working children as and when needed;
Support administrative, financial aspects of the project-purchasing items, liquidating advances, filling in relevant documentation and records in a timely manner;
Support case management through referring to other service providers in coordination with team members, senior case worker, case worker and street educators;
Coordinate closely with the technology and innovation officer to document weekly trends of street and working children and provide appropriate updates on a weekly basis this includes drafting and updating weekly Sitreps, trends forms (weekly basis);
Maintain up to date case management databases weekly basis;
Support in the organization and planning of advocacy events in coordination with the CP SaWC Manager;
Ensure that all high risk cases are immediately reported to the Senior case worker and CP SaWC Manager;
Remain abreast of developments in the field of service provisions this includes maintaining and updating spreadsheet with mapped services and focal points for service provisions;
Participate in weekly team meetings;
Other
Collaborate closely with the Psychosocial team (Street educators), apprenticeship and cash for work officer on cases, as well as provide support as and when requested;
Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to the SaWC manager and liaising with external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs;
Attend CP coordination meeting when required;
Liaise and collaborate with other CP programs and other sectors especially the protection team from Mount Lebanon;
Other duties as assigned by CP SaWC manager to enable and develop IRC programs

Job Requirements:
Technical diploma or degree in social work, human rights, or related degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years experience of implementing child protection programs preferably psychosocial activities, social work or case management, in humanitarian or development settings;
Ability to work on the street supporting psychosocial activities for street and working children;
Ability to work on the street at night conducting activities and supporting the team;
Experience in managing and supporting staff development;
Demonstrated experience of planning and conducting children’s PSS activities;
Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children;
Strong drafting and reporting skills;
Knowledge and experience in using and updating databases;
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking mandatory;
Proficient in Microsoft Word and excel;
Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting;
Staunch advocate of child protection and child rights;
Desirable not essential

Experience working with Syrian, Dom and Turkmen communities
