Basic function: Purpose and scope
Providing individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy Interviewing patients and administering diagnostic tests. Collaborating with the staff – when needed – to develop and implement treatment plan
Helping emotionally and mentally disturbed individuals cope with and function in life.
Duties Performed:
Provide psychological services for refugees
Provide individual (adults, adolescents and children), family, and/or group psychotherapy
Provide clinical interviews, diagnosis, reports and recommendations.
Help emotionally and mentally disturbed individuals cope with and function in life.
Provide direct psychosocial support and refer internally and externally as needed, respecting confidentiality and the right of the beneficiary
Administer and interpret a variety of psychological tests and assessment instruments if necessary
Interface with families, treatment team members and case management as requested by CLMC
Conduct discussion group, focus group with individuals, families.
Conduct psychosocial activities
Conduct awareness sessions with the beneficiaries
Work directly with the social worker to develop intervention plans and follow up at the home level.
Report directly to CLMC psychosocial officer and to the head of project.
To demonstrate an ethic and professional practice:
Respect beneficiary confidentiality.
Address needs and requests in a professional way.
Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.
Always respect a refusal of treatment.
