Trade Instructor – Nursery   Location Siblin Training Centre Type of Appointment Fixed Term – Three Years Deadline for Application 19 March 2015 Vacancy Announcement Number 07/2015 Grade 09 -11 Department/Division Education department   MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures is responsible for teaching the subject of specialization to vocational (training) trainees and in particular: (A)    Organizes and develops the subject of specialization; (B)    Co‑ordinates the teaching of the subject with subjects taught by other instructors; (C)   Ensures the proper implementation of the subject syllabus and the evaluation of its effectiveness under the direction of the supervisors concerned; (D)   Maintains records and control of different supplies of the section and for the care and proper utilization of the facilities and equipment; (E)    Participates in co‑curricular activities in the Centre and in different summer courses when required; (F)    Participates with other staff members in maintaining order and discipline in the Centre; (G)   Performs such other duties as may be assigned.   PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES A)     Trades Instructor “A” Grade 11 A.   Academic and Professional        (i).    Successful completion of full Secondary Education, plus two years post secondary Technical Course in an area directly related to the trade to be taught.        (ii).   Two years in-service training course.   B.   Experience        At least six years experience including two years work experience in the trade, or in a related technical function and two years teaching experience.   C.   Language Good knowledge of spoken and written English & Arabic.   (B)    Trades Instructor “B” Grade 10 A.   Academic and Professional        Successful completion of full Secondary Education, plus two years post secondary Technical Course in an     area directly related to the trade to be taught.   B.   Experience        At least three years of satisfactory service as an Instructor ‘C’ in the trade to be taught, plus one year work           experience in that trade, or in a related technical function.   C.   Language        Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Arabic.       (C)    Academic Instructor “C” Grade 9 A.   Academic and Professional        (i)     Successful completion of full Secondary Education.        (ii)    A post secondary technical course of two years duration in an area related to the trade to be taught.   Experience No Experience.   Language Good knowledge of spoken and written Arabic and English   CONDITIONS OF SERVICE Salary: Monthly basic salary Grade 09: L.L. 1,664,323. - Grade 10: L.L. 1,721,916. – Grade 11: L.L. 1,794,464.- Contract Duration: Fixed term-Three years Holidays: 30 days annual leave (Summer Vacation) Dependency allowance: Dependent spouse: L.L 60,000 per month     Dependent child: L.L 33,000 per month Pension:  Provident Fund contribution   EQUIVALENCY Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.   RECRUITMENT PROCESS The Recruitment process is based on the Agency’s strategy to obtain the best qualified and suitable employees through a competitive recruitment process. After the deadline for receiving applications, all applications will be reviewed by the Human Resources Office and the Hiring Department.  Short-listed candidates who fully meet the required criteria shall undergo technical/practical tests and the candidates with the highest passing scores will then be invited to interview (see “Technical and Practical Tests Required” below). The final recommendation for selection is based on the test results, interview assessment, Agency priorities and needs and the candidates’ profiles. If the post is a project funded post (this will be indicated in the vacancy), an internal candidate with a temporary-indefinite or fixed-term appointment selected for this post will not retain his/her current contractual status and entitlements in accordance with current letter of appointment and applicable Area Staff Rules. The Agency maintains the discretion to fill future vacancies for this position from the roster without re-advertising the vacancy.   As an Area post, preference will be given to local candidates already based in the duty station of the post.   TECHNICAL & PRACTICAL TESTS REQUIRED: Short-listed candidates will sit for two tests: Written technical test (100%).
