Psychosocial Support Assistant- Child Protection

Who are we?The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobResponsible for organization and provision of structured psychosocial support activities in mobile team and youth committees’ management. Duties • To organize psychosocial support activities for most vulnerable children, based on best interest and needs of children;• To supervise PSS, mobile recreational and awareness activities in informal settlements, collective centres and other community spaces by creating a safe setting where children can express their feelings and needs;• To supervise and monitor the work of the animators when applicable (who support the implementation of the PSS and recreational activities);• To refer children in needs of case management to CP case workers in case of need and upon the positive written consent from the child and caregiver;• To report to the PSS officer as soon as she/he suspects or observe or informed a child or children are at risk of abuse or being mistreated; About youQualifications & Experience:a) Preferred qualifications:• Master degree in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field,• Very good reporting skills b) Preferred experience:• Previous experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings• Previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon• University degree; preferably related to social work• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience• Experience in managing community centers and development projects or community mobilization • Experience in emergency work is a plus We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs.
