Child Protection Assistant (Hermel)

 The IRC Child Protection programme is seeking a Child Protection Assistant to work in the community and support volunteers in the organization of psychosocial support activities.  Major Responsibilities:  Program:  •Deliver mobile psychosocial activities to children and parenting skills training for caregivers  •Coach volunteers in the organization of psychosocial activities for children and caregivers  •Where needed deliver Life Skills training for adolescents  •Identify children requiring case management and ensure to refer them safely to the case management team  •Actively monitor the activity run by the volunteers  •Daily collect data on the activities organized and ensure that all the relevant forms are duly filled •Work in close collaboration with the case worker and other IRC staff  •Raise any concern or challenge to the Area Officer  Other  •Promptly reports concerns or incidents to IRC management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs  •Ensure activities are done in accordance with IRC logistics policy and in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs  •Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs  Key Working Relationships:  Position Reports to:  CP Area Officer Indirect Reporting: CP Manager Other Internal and/or external contacts:  Internal: CP volunteers and other IRC programs on the field    External: local partner  Job Requirements: Education: technical diploma in social science or pedagogy preferable Work Experience: 2 years work experience minimum Experience in working with children and organizing activities Experience working in NGO is a plus  Experience in working in a cross cultural environment preferable   Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:  Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoying working in the field Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children Good communication skills Language Skills: Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking is a plus  Certificates or Licenses: Proficient in Word and excel  Working Environment:  Office work and field trips
