Terms of ReferenceSSCL AnalystSSCL is a committee of Local NGOs, International NGOs, United Nations (UN), InternationalOrganizations (IO) and Civil Society Non-Profit Organizations who coordinate and shareinformation, resources and training on safety and security in Lebanon.SSCL Mission Statement: To enhance the safety and security of international and localorganizations operating in the humanitarian, development and civil society sector in Lebanon byfostering awareness and analysis, risk management, information sharing, coordination and bestpractice.The Values of SSCL: P.I.E. – Predictive, Innovative, Enabling.SSCL AnalystThe Analyst is responsible for information collection, collation, management and analysis,including production of a range of SSCL analytical products, such as mapping, presentations,podcasts and other new media formatsThe Analyst will also be responsible for the management of the national SSCL office. Thisincludes oversight of national logistics and administration. Key Responsibilities Work closely with SSCL -Executive Committee, Chair, Coordinator and Area Risk Advisors(ARA); Liaise with relevant SSCL stakeholders and interlocutors, such as the United Nations(UN), Government of Lebanon, Donors and independent analytical bodies; Coordinate the collection of information; Manage and collate incident reporting from, and advice to, SSCL members; Assuring quality of SSCL service to members and quality of product; Responsible as the point of contact for SSCL information management, database andproduct development; Be prepared to act as SSCL Coordinator in their absence; Produce intellectually rigorous and best-practice analytical product in support of SSCL; Competently handle new media and develop new media based product; Develop and Conduct database management; Produce complex and predictive systems of indicator and warnings relevant toLebanon’s environment; Ensure technical quality and accuracy of SSCL reporting; Monitor open sources to produce contextual analysis of Analysis; frequently travel to the three regional offices (Akkar & North, Beqaa and South). Capacity build SSCL member staff in reporting and information management; and Represent the SSCL to relevant clusters, agencies and ministries on issues, as and whenrequired.RequirementsEducation- Masters level qualification in Risk Management, International Relations, Communications,Journalism or Business Administration, in lieu a relevant bachelor combined with 5 or moreyears’ experience in public or private sector in threat and risk management or incommunications.Experience- 5 to 7 years of experience in leading/managing teams that collect, analyze and distributeinformation relevant to humanitarian, development or government policy and operations.- Familiarity with UN, INGO, Lebanon or Donor security management systems highly desirable.Skills Required- Excellent understanding of the Lebanon context;- Strong leadership, management, planning, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills;- Ability to quickly adapt and innovative methods of communication with new technologies;- Excellent initiator, able to manage multiple tasks;- Able to work under pressure and good at timely decision making;- Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic, French is desirable;- Competent in Microsoft Office and an interest in the potential of new and social media;- Knowledge and/or experience in conflict management, protection, or other related field;- Excellent professional approach and strong team building skills;- Strong coordination and representation skills and well versed in convincing and clarification ofviews and points;- Embraces culturally diversity and highly tolerant; and- A sense of humor is absolutely mandatory.
