Learning Resource Center Assistant   Location North Lebanon area Type of Appointment Contractor Deadline for Application 11 February 2015 Vacancy Announcement Number 997/2015 Department/Division Education Programme    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent: (A)    Co-ordinates the organization and administration of the centre and its use for classes, seminars, workshops, research, self training materials, e-resources, e-learning and library; (B)    Encourages an atmosphere of technology in education, digital resources, e-learning, interactive learning, software, programming, UNRWA TV to ensure teachers and students use the centre continuously; (C)    Controls and maintains the equipment, hardware, software and contents of the centre, keeping appropriate records; (D)   In co-ordination with the School Supervisor (Education Specialist AVM) provides guidance, support AVM and ICT training for students, teachers and schools; (E)    Assists the teachers in preparing their e-learning materials, designs from low cost materials and in preparing videos for teaching purposes; (F)    Work on e-Curriculum enrichment in ICT and training materials; (G)   Arrange for e-learning awareness sessions for students, teachers, staff, parents community and NGO’s on self learning materials and various e-learning resources; (H)    Performs such other work as may be required and assigned.              PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES (A)   Academic and Professional i)     A University degree in computer science; ii)    Completion of a teacher training course of at least one-year’s duration.   (B)   Experience A minimum of five years of computer teaching and/or AVM experience.   (C)   Language        Good knowledge of spoken and written Arabic and English.   (D)   Skills and Competencies i)     Ability to use Graphic and editing software (adobe and flash); ii)    Ability to cope with multiple tasks effectively; iii)   Excellent communication skills.   ADDITIONAL IFORMATION i)     Ability to type English and Arabic; ii)    Have flexible duty hours to cover both morning and afternoon shifts.   CONDITIONS OF SERVICE Salary: As per relevant salary scale. Contract Duration: Eight months - Extendable according to availability of Funds, needs and performance.       EQUIVALENCY Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.   GENERAL INFORMATION UNRWA is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications equally from men and women. Upon selection, a staff member may be offered the consultant/contractor contract upon resignation from fixed term appointments and a three month break-in-service.
