MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Be the focal point for all ACF WaSH activities in the ITS, collective and isolated shelters in the geographical area under his/her responsibility.
Participate in the development and implementation of hygiene promotion and social mobilization tools and methodologies.
Train and mobilize members of the beneficiary communities (WaSH Committees).
Organize and supervise the implementation of assessment, monitoring and evaluation activities.
Write assessment, monitoring and evaluation reports.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
Strong communication skills
Experience in hygiene/health promotion and social mobilization
Ability to work in a team, interpersonal skills and diplomacy
good organizational skills, proactivity and ability to work autonomously
Flexibility and adaptability
Ability to work with children and vulnerable people
Experience in assessment, monitoring and evaluation and reporting as an asset
Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Fluent in Arabic and very good English level (written and spoken)
Agreement with the principles, Charter and objectives of ACF.
DETAILTED OBJECTIVES AND TASKS
Objective 1: Be the Focal Point for all WaSH activities of ACF in the ITS, and collective and isolated shelters in the geographical area under his/her responsibility.
Establish, train and follow up the performance of the beneficiary WaSH committees created in the different ITS and collective shelters.
Visit on a weekly basis the ITS, and collective and isolated shelters in the geographical area under his/her responsibility in order to monitor the situation in terms of access to water (water quality, water storage, etc.), sanitation (latrines, drainage, risk of flooding), hygiene and solid waste management in coordination with the beneficiaries (WaSH committees) and the other members of the ACF WaSH Team.
Coordinate the different distributions (water tanks, filters, hygiene kits, latrines, solid waste bins, voucher for water trucking, desludging and solid waste) and WaSH infrastructure construction and rehabilitation in collaboration with the ACF Technical team.
Coordinate the assessments and monitoring and evaluation activities in collaboration with the ACF Monitoring & Evaluation team.
Objective 2: Participate in the development and implementation of hygiene promotion and social mobilization tools and methodologies.
Organise assessments, home visits, focus groups and visits to the ITS and collective and isolated shelters in order to identify shortcomings in terms of public health and access to water, sanitation and hygiene ;
Participate in preparing training modules for the promotion of hygiene in cooperation with the Hygiene Promotion Supervisor
Participate in developing tools and methodologies adapted to different audiences : songs, role games, mural paintings, meetings, HH visits, focus groups and training courses …
Implement hygiene campaigns using the tools and methodologies developed.
Objective 3: Reporting.
Report the progress of the activities to the Head of Project.
Report potential problems or conflicts during the implementation of the activities.
Report the use of materials and possible improvements.
Data collection regarding the project and the potentials beneficiaries.
Regular reporting to the Head of Project and the Hygiene Promotion Supervisor.
Objective 4: Collaborate in the creation and implementation of monitoring & Evaluation tools and methodologies for ACF WaSH activities.
Support in the creation of tools and methodologies to monitor and evaluate ACF WaSH activities (distributions, construction and rehabilitation, hygiene promotion, solid waste management, surveys, etc. …) and organize the implementation of those tools.
Organize the implementation of these tools and methodologies (field surveys, management of databases, writing reports, etc.) in collaboration with the rest of the A, M & E team and Technical teams.
Organize the Data Collection for the beneficiaries’ assessments and for the WaSH items distributed in coordination with the Focal Points (Hygiene promotion team) and the Technical team
Objective 5: Others
Respect of ACF Charter and internal rules and regulations.
Be committed to participate to any other activities in order to achieve the project goals.
