Hygiene Promotion Officer - Tripoli

ROLE PURPOSE: The Hygiene Promotion Officer will be responsible for the design, implementation, follow-up and evaluation of the hygiene promotion activities of Save The Children in the target communities in the region of Tripoli T5. The post is designed to be transversal working with all sectors to integrate hygiene promotion activities into the work of the Education, Child Protection and FSL teams in Tripoli.   KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :   Program design and implementation: Design, planning, implementation and follow-up of hygiene promotion activities across all sectors Work with sector Programme Managers to integrate WASH activities into Education and Child Protection activities in T5 Training of trainers in hygiene promotion: sector focal points, community volunteers, WASH committee members, teachers, health workers etc. Setting up of children clubs and hygiene promotion activities in schools, CFS and ECCD centers Follow-up of the hygiene promotion activities with local partners of Save the Children and participate in building their capacity Ensure budget planning and logistics for hygiene promotion activities: making and follow-up of internal purchase order, quality control of material delivered by suppliers and planning team movements by vehicle   Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning: Work with WASH TA and MEAL teams to ensure that appropriate MEAL tools exist for measuring WASH indicators Implementation of initial and final KAP surveys (Knowledge, Attitude, Practice) Implementation of PDM survey (Post Distribution Monitoring) for hygiene kits distributed Collection, consolidation and reporting of weekly data, necessary for the consolidation of standard project and strategic indicators (number of beneficiaries, number and type of activity performed, results of water analyzes performed)   QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE  Required: 2 years’ experience in a field related to public health, communication and behaviour change Organisational, coordination and planning skills Good computer skills Excellent facilitation skills Ability to listen and adapt Good interpersonal skills Fluent in English and Arabic  Desirable: Experience in public health education, and in the field of training Experience of working in Tripoli T5 Reporting: Writing weekly report to line manager, and verbal reports whenever necessary Writing WASH sections of donor report for review by DAM  Integration and Coordinations: Coordinate WASH activities with other sectors of Save the Children, in order to integrate activities in the same geographical area and for the same beneficiaries. Coordinate activities with other local actors (governmental and non-governmental) Ensure the integration of gender, child protection, HIV, environment and other crosscutting issues to the design, implementation and development of Hygiene promotion activities, and ensure that activities take into account the needs of specific groups and individuals, especially children, the elderly and disabled APPLICATION PROCESS  Please note that the closing date for applications is: January 25, 2015  The selection committee will review all applications as they are received.
