Logistics Coordinator

These attitudes and believes shall guide our actions and relationships. 1.      Role and responsibilities The following is a brief description of the role. To support the NRC Logistics & IT Manager to ensure compliance with NRC policies and procedures in Lebanon in relation to Procurement, Warehousing, Fleet Management, Asset Management and IT Generic responsibilities (max 10) Provide technical advice and support to implement NRC’s logistical systems and procedures at NRC field office level. Provide follow-up and controls to ensure adherence from all NRC offices to the NRC Logistics Handbook, other NRC policies and donor requirements. Ensure local SoP’s are properly developed /updated and disseminated at field office level. Provide anti corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus in all processes (e.g. in procurement, vehicle management, asset management). Prepare and implement in coordination with the Logs Manager a NRC Lebanon logistics capacity building plan for training and development of the logistics teams both on a technical function (procurement / fleet) and field office level. Support in following up on the procurement plans and requisition tracking in the field offices. Prepare and keep updated induction files which can be used for both new logistics staff and all new staff to NRC. Coordinate IT support in the field between field IT focal points, Logs Manager and IT officers. Prepare and submit periodic reports and plans as required. Ensure proper filing of all logistics documents in all offices. Specific responsibilities Technically responsible for the Logistics Officers (LO’s) in the field – coordinate with the field managers in the LO’s performance management, new recruitments within field logistics and field logistics structures. Provide cover to the Logistics & IT Manager when they are away from the office and also to cover when required extended absences of field Logistics officers Critical interfaces By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are: Coordinate closely with the Beirut Procurement and Fleet Officers to support NRC Field officers in these technical areas. Coordinate closely with the Field Managers to identify gaps and areas for technical support within the field logistics teams. Work closely with HR and the other support functions to ensure there is a systematic and coherent approach to capacity building of staff across all field offices. 2.      Competencies Competencies are important in order for the employee and the organisation to deliver desired results. They are relevant for all staff and are divided into the following two categories: 1. Professional competencies These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance. Generic professional competencies: •             Minimum 3-5 years experience from working as a Logistics Coordinator / Senior Logistics Officer preferably from within a humanitarian/recovery context. •             IT experience. •             Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts. •             Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. •             Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile. •             Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience: •             Knowledge of the context in Lebanon. •             Experience and ability to train others, facilitate workshops and transfer knowledge. •             Ability and readiness to spend significant periods of time working out of the NRC field offices.
