Social Worker

General objective of the job   The social worker ensures that the activities are implemented in compliance with War Child policies and the children are reached. S/he is responsible for monitoring and reporting of the activities and concerns are identified according to the referral path.   Position in the organisation   The social worker is part of the Emergency program department reporting to the project coordinator. S/he does not manage staff. S/he collaborates with the specialists within the Quality Department.     Result areas   1.         Developing and implementing an outreach plan   •           Contributes to the development of an outreach plan •           Implements the outreach plan in the field in close collaboration with the partners   Result: the outreach plan is developed and implemented in such matter the target group is reached.   2.         Monitoring activities in the field   •           Contributes to the development and implementation of a monitoring and assessment plan •           Conducts regular visits to partners in the field •           Monitors the undergoing activities in the field •           Monitors and reports on the alignment of the implemented activities with the child safety policy •           Monitors and identifies child protection concerns •           Identifies, advises and if needed provides the need of additional support with families •           Refers and follows up on special cases of children to relevant organizations for additional support when needed   Result: all field activities are monitored in such way that they comply with the Child Protection Policy and concerns are identified and reported.   3.         Providing training and support   •           Plans, organizes, conducts and documents awareness sessions for refugee communities (parents and children) on the type of project (education, PSS) •           Conducts focus group meetings with children, parents and community informants •           Provides the Child protection Coordinator with information regarding the available services and organizations operating in the working area •           Ensures child protection concerns are communicated to the Child Protection working groups   Result: training and support is conducted in such a way that communities are aware of Child Safety and Protection and concerns are reported.       4.         Handling Administration activities   •           Develops and maintains a filing system of attendees •           Formulates monthly reports on drop-outs, referrals, Child Protection/Child Safety incidents and concerns, and awareness sessions.
