As the world’s leading independent organization for children and children´s rights, our mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.Save the Children Sweden is a membership-based organisation with 175.000 members and supporters.   To support regional and country programmes in the Middle East and Eurasia in the delivery of Save the Children Sweden’s child rights governance objectives and strategy to strengthen civil society we are now seeking a   Regional Thematic Advisor for Child Rights Governance and Organizational Capacity Development- Middle East and Eurasia Role Purpose  Provide thematic support, primarily to SC Sweden’s child rights governance programs in the region taking into consideration both development and humanitarian contexts. Provide thematic support, in relation to organizational capacity development primarily to SC Sweden’s development and humanitarian programs in the region. Ensure and build capacity of SCI staff and partner organizations. Ensure synergies and sharing of experiences and lessons learnt across the region, between countries and from local to international levels and contribute to the knowledge management development at Head Office through analysis, documentation and systematization of learning. Coordinate with other SC Members´ technical assistance staff and the Child Rights Governance Initiative. Key Areas of Responsibility  Support the strategic thematic development of SC Sweden’s supported programs and program design in line with SC priority areas and SC Sweden’s priorities, at all levels of the program cycle. Ensure organisational capacity analysis of national and regional partner organisations and provide support to their strengthening. Be responsible for gathering thematic lessons learnt from supported programs, including ensuring documentation and dissemination of new knowledge and innovative approaches. Follow-up of SC Sweden’s supported CRG programs in the region. Conduct trainings on Child Rights Governance policies, strategies, methods and tools Support fundraising initiatives Facilitate networking and advocacy work between local, national, regional and international levels. Take part in any other priority task and/or represent SC Sweden when needed. Required Qualifications – Professional and Personal    University Degree in social sciences, social development, law or equivalent. Clear professional expertise on child rights and organizational capacity development as well as a clear understanding of how to implement the rights of the child in emergency and non-emergency settings. Proven ability of successful networking and co-operation with various partners, especially with civil society. Proven ability of conducting trainings, building organizational capacity and strong coordination and facilitation skills. Demonstrated experience and capacity of proposal writing, PME, advocacy and communications in promoting child rights. Experience of development of Child Rights Governance programs in close cooperation with many actors at different levels in an organisation, At least 6 years of relevant experience of working on child rights and governance issues, including CRC, UPR and other relevant processes. Several years of experience from working in developing countries, preferably in the Middle East and Eurasia region. Analytical and strategic skills. Social competence skills, diplomacy, integrity and a team-worker. A high degree of cultural sensitivity and ability to adjust to changes. Ability to deal with conflict situations and problem solving. Self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of autonomy (Line Manager inHead Office in Stockholm). Excellent writing, communications and diplomatic skills in English, working knowledge of Arabic is required.   How to Apply   Please check the role profile to ensure that you meet the selection criteria for the position you are applying for including Arabic skills.
