Project Manager

Act for the Disappeared is seeking to hire a full-time Project Manager to manage its Project entitled: "Clarifying the fate of the missing and forcibly disappeared in Lebanon".  Act for the Disappeared is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization based in Beirut. Act aims to clarify the fate of the thousands of forcibly disappeared and missing persons in Lebanon and contribute to a reunifying national reconciliation process, based on establishing facts and restoring the dignity of victims. ACT seeks to empower the relatives of the victims, engage the Lebanese society in supporting this cause, lobby the authorities to create a sustainable solution and increase the youth's understanding of the consequences of violence to prevent repetition. The Project Manager will report directly to the Director of Act for the Disappeared. The project manager main duties include, but are not restricted to: Project implementation: Ensure implementation of the project activities with the families of the disappeared and the youth. Monitor and follow up on the work of partner NGOs, providing support as needed. Conduct networking with the families of the disappeared and local actors Coordinate and supervise volunteers  Organize conference, trainings, presentations Develop associated communications documents and tools Coordinate the work of advocacy and lobbying  Participate in the design and implementation of ACT's communication strategy  Reporting:  Report back verbally as often as needed to ACT's management on the progress of the work.  Assist in the preparation of donor and other reports.  Related skills: Professionalism Ability to be flexible and adapt to a changing environment Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues Strong organizational and management skills Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills Excellent written and spoken skills in Arabic and English, French a plus Strong writing and analytical skills
