Community Capacity Building Assistant (2)

These attitudes and believes shall guide our actions and relationships.  The employee will have to sign a Code of Conduct before starting his/her contract with NRC. 1.      Role and responsibilities The following is a brief description of the role. The Community Capacity Building Assistant (CCBA) will work closely with the whole CCB team in Bekaa and with the NRC team in Aarsal in establishing collaboration with refugees from Syria ; gathering and providing necessary information for regular reporting for identification of gaps and duplication in services together with the refugees: and for improved assistance to vulnerable beneficiaries and improved on-site coordination. It is expected that the CCBA spends most of his/her time in the field. The CCBA must be residing in Arsaal for continual access to project activities. The CCBA reports to the Community Capacity Building Officer (CCBO). Generic responsibilities Establish a good relationship with refugee representatives and committees; Implementation of information and sensitisation activities; Meet regularly with the refugee representatives and assist them in organising meetings; facilitating minutes writing; sensitisation campaigns; information sharing; trainings etc.; Work together with NRC ICLA and the refugee representatives to sensitise the refugees on the different services provided by different agencies working in the settlements and the local authorities and how to approach them; Work closely with other NRC Core Competencies staff implementing activities in Aarsal Provide updates with verified information on humanitarian gaps and duplications in Aarsal, in general and for weekly reports; Define the methods of community participation that ensure the greatest possible participation of vulnerable groups (Age, Gender and Diversity Mainstreaming approach); Ensure the principle of confidentiality is ensured in all the project activities; Any other relevant duties as requested by the Project Manager or Project Coordinator. Critical interfaces By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are: Refugees representatives: a good collaboration with the representatives is critical for reaching the project objectives of increased participation by the refugees. The ICLA assistant in the joint team and other ICLA team members for optimal joint response. Other NRC Core Competencies: Coordination with all the CCs on activities in Aarsal. The employee is required to respect the principle of strict confidentiality and the NRC Code of Conduct. The tasks and responsibilities might change during the contract period due to operational needs. 2.      Competencies 1. Professional competencies Generic professional competencies: Ordinary National Diploma in Social Work or other relevant field Minimum 1 years of relevant work experience in working with community based projects Minimum 1 years of experience in working in similar positions Experience of working in the geographical area, and must currently reside in Arsaal Good English language level would be an asset Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience: Good communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational and team working skills Good cultural awareness and sensitivity Highly approachable, trustworthy and understanding of the principles of confidentiality Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector Knowledge of protection issues and programming Good information analysis skills Good coordination and multitasking skills Flexibility regarding job tasks and area of work 2.
