Capacity Building And Partnership Officer

The Capacity Building and Partnership Officer will be responsible for the development and implementation of capacity building plans to increase IRC’s staff and its local partner’s knowledge and skills to deliver quality GBV response and prevention services through mobile teams in the Wadi Khaled region. He/she will act as the main focal point for the local partner IRC will identify and work with for the duration of the project and will monitor the progress of capacity building efforts to ensure they are able to deliver quality GBV programming by the end of the year. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Training & Capacity Building With the support of the Capacity Building Manager, develop a capacity building plan based on a SWOT analysis and assessment of local partner’s needs and gaps Contribute to the development of training and learning modules and mentoring and coaching tools Organize and ensure smooth delivery of trainings for local partners and health facilities by coordinating with the Admin Assistant and the relevant technical focal points for each training Facilitate trainings in technical and organizational development topics, including GBV case management, GBV core concepts, adolescent girls programming, community mobilization, reporting. Conduct regular coaching and mentoring sessions with local partner staff and mobilize other IRC’s team members to provide technical input and expertise Utilize agreed tools to monitor quality of implementation by local partners and provide recommendations to address gaps Build capacity of IRC’s staff in partnership principles and effective partnering strategies Develop and adapt training materials (handouts, presentations, etc.) and tools to monitor effectiveness of trainings, including pre and post-tests Partnership development & management Participate in the mapping and assessment of local partners working in the target area Act as focal point for all communications with the local partner Maintain regular contact with local partner to establish a relationship based on trust and reciprocal respect and to ensure their regular involvement in IRC’s activities Support local partner during administrative and reporting processes, including recruitment of staff, submission of financial and narrative report to ensure adherence to IRC’s standard and build capacity of local partner Prepare schedule for local partner’s staff dedicated to the project to ensure coordination with IRC’s WPE team Provide feedback to WPE Manager and other key WPE team members on how to best support local partner’s capacity building process Monitor application of key IRC’s partnership principles by all IRC’s staff and make recommendations to the WPE Manager in case of  gaps Act as focal point for communications between the IRC’s support teams (finance, HR, supply chain, grants) and the local partner and follow up with IRC’s support teams to ensure they are adequately supporting the local partner in their processes Other Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs All IRC staff is required to adhere to THE IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct and the IRC country employment policies. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Who this position reports to:                                                      WPE Manager Who this position supervises:                                                     None Who this position works with:                                                    WPE Sr Officer, Case Management Officer, Adolescent Girls Officer JOB REQUIREMENTS Required 1-2 years professional experience in community-based Protection or GBV programming, preferably in an emergency context Clear understanding of gender, human rights, and issues surrounding violence against women and girls. Demonstrated experience working within a partnership agreement and/or a network including national organizations Experience facilitating trainings and workshops Experience coaching and mentoring staff/volunteers on technical topics Interest in organizational development of small organizations an asset Fluent in Arabic and good knowledge of English Positive and professional attitude, including ability to work well in a team setting Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail. Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
