Protection Assistant - Baalbek

We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated Protection Assistant for the DRC Field Office in North Bekaa.   Who are we? DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. Duties Carry out daily field visits and conduct Focus Group Discussions/participatory assessments/rapid   protection assessment; Conduct visits to vulnerable individuals or families’ homes, assess their needs and report accordingly by: Filling out a questionnaire, conduct interviews using physical files; Identifying individuals with specific needs and referring them to the appropriate facilities or services, including direct service provision through DRC (cash or in kind assistance); Identifying protection cases and doing appropriate referrals (such as separation of family members, security, sexual and gender-based violence, etc.); Receive referrals from different agencies and local actors and provide feedback of actions taken; Provide information to beneficiaries relating to service provision in Area of responsibility, whether DRC services or services provided by other agencies; Assist in establishing community support committees for the elderly in coordination with protection and community development colleagues. Committees should be linked with DRC community centers or safe spaces; Contribute to the overall protection/CS weekly and monthly report underlining protection issues and related trends and figures in coordination with the Protection officer. About you To be successful in this role you must have Bachelor/Degree in Social work, political science, law or other related field;  , Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times; Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility. In addition, flexibility in terms of working hours and working locations is essential. As for the language, Fluency in Arabic is required and Ability to communicate and write clearly in English strongly preferred. We offer An interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world.
