ACT FOR THE DISAPPEARED  ACT for the Disappeared is a Lebanese human rights association created in 2010 whose mission is to clarify the fate of the thousands of forcibly disappeared and missing persons in Lebanon as well as to contribute to a reunifying national reconciliation process. ACT seeks to empower the relatives of the victims, engage the Lebanese society in supporting this cause, lobby the authorities to create a sustainable solution and increase the youth's understanding of the consequences of violence to prevent repetition. Research project: In 2014, ACT has launched a research project to collect and protect information that could prove to be vital for any truth-seeking mechanism. ACT is seeking an intern to support the work of its research team.   Degree required: Master degree Tasks Document events of the Lebanese civil war Gather and file data Assist and coordinate with researchers Participate in developing the methodology of the research The internship requires:  Experience in research work Interest in human rights work and Lebanese history Fluency in Arabic and English or French.
