Post title: Registered Pharmacist (Part-time)
Location: Lebanon Office
Operational area: Office in Beirut, with field visits to all regions
Duration of the contract: 1 year, renewable
Starting date of the contract: ASAP.
ROLE SUMMARY
The post holder will contribute to the achievement of the aims and objectives of the Medical In-Kind Program (MIKP):
Provision of efficient technical support to the Program Manager
Review and provide feedback on offered donations of medicines in light of the applicable laws and regulations of the Lebanese Ministry of Health,
Assist, as needed, in assessment, training, monitoring and capacity building activities addressing the needs of partner organizations.
The post requires onsite and offsite work.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES, TASKS AND ACTIVITIES
Regular review of ANERA MIKP donation process, including:
Review of product donation offers sent by MIKP donors for local partners consideration; and
Review of packing lists/manifests to ensure the appropriateness of donations within the Lebanese context;
Assist in the monitoring of recipient organizations Monitoring includes storage, handling, dispensing and management of medications; and compliance with agreed-upon quality standards.
Capacity Building. The Consultant will assist the Program Manager develop a capacity building program for recipient organizations.
Assist in the strategic planning of MIKP activities, as needed.
Non-routine assignments: ANERA and the Consultant will mutually agree on any assignments beyond routine MIKP work in advance; this includes the nature and time required to complete the assignment.
Monthly Reports. The consultant will provide ANERA with a short monthly report at the end of each month, detailing progress toward each of the above mentioned tasks. Written monthly reports should be sent to the Country Director with copies to the Program Manager.
SPECIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
A degree in Pharmacy.
Licensed member of the Syndicate of Pharmacists in Lebanon
Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant field work
Experience in medicine stock management
Excellent updated knowledge of existing laws and regulations related to the importation and distribution of medicines in Lebanon.
Familiar with WHO donation guidelines and Essential Drugs.
Excellent command of English and Arabic.
Excellent reporting, organizational, communication and computer skills
Desirable
Driving skills
Experience in development and community work, preferably in the context of dispensaries, community healthcare centres and hospitals.
Experience in working /collaborating with the Lebanese Ministry of Health in a relevant context
Experience in promoting the rational use of medicine

Ability to work with minimal supervision
High level of competence in communicating information both verbally and electronically
Sound organisational skills
