Founded in 1982, Search for Common Ground (SFCG) is the largest dedicated international non-governmental organization working in the field of conflict transformation. Operating within 34 countries, SFCG uses creative, multi-faceted approaches to help divided communities understand differences while working toward commonalities. SFCG has been working in Lebanon since 2008 and works to promote social cohesion through a combination of leadership initiatives, journalism, and conflict sensitivity training. Summary of Position SFCG is looking for motivated and enthusiastic interns for a period of minimum 3 months to 6 months. The intern will be supporting the team in the everyday functioning of the office and in the implementation of activities. Internships can be full-time or part-time depending on the candidate availability and/or field of expertise. Responsibilities (depending on intern skills and field of expertise): Assist team members in the implementation of project activities; Take minutes of meetings with community stakeholders, partners and/or projects’ activities; Maintain regular written and oral reporting with Programme Officer and SFCG’s Country Director; Translate documents and texts from Arabic to English and vice versa; Assist with project records such as databases, reports and records of decisions; Assist with SFCG Lebanon communication strategy, especially on social media, video editing and for newsletters; Assist in the everyday functioning of the office and with administrative tasks as needed; Complete all other tasks as required. As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties. Requirements and Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in a related area (Master’s Degree preferred), preferably in conflict resolution, international studies, peace-building, human rights, communication and video editing, translation or related area. • Previous experience as volunteer in civil society organisations highly preferred.   Skills •Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations. • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills. • Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic. • Strong oral and written communications skills. • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. • Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
