Driver - Beirut Office

Job Summary   To safely drive and ensure proper maintenance of Concern vehicles as per Concern Transport Regulations.  This includes ensuring vehicle is only used for official trips; maintaining vehicle log books; ensuring regular vehicle servicing is carried out; reporting of any fault or accident involving the vehicle; supervising any vehicle repairs; keeping vehicle clean and tidy; and ensuring all passengers and cargo are carried safely.   Duties and Responsibilities   To safely drive Concern’s rented vehicles for official trips following official procedures. To drive defensively and according to all Lebanese traffic laws and regulations To report any technical fault in the vehicle, supervise the repairs/maintenance work as required. Immediately report any accident or security incident/risk to supervisor To be responsible for the security of the vehicle on duty and to ensure no unauthorized person drives official vehicles. Perform routine and timely check of vehicle roadworthiness as per provided checklist, unless these are carried out by hire company To adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in the Programme Participant Protection Policy and Concern Code of Conduct.   Skills, Qualifications  and  Experience Required   A valid driving license and clean driving record At least five years driving experience including experience of driving 4 wheel drive vehicles in difficult terrain. familiar with defensive driving techniques and project area Literate in Arabic, spoken English is highly desirable Willing to work in the field as per need of the project activities including occasional overnight stays away from home base Commitment to humanitarian principles and values Commitment to Concern equal opportunity and gender practices Preference will be given to residents of Beirut.
