I-Scope of responsibilities:
The pharmacist should spend part of her/his time in Amel Association Headquarters Pharmacy supervising and supporting the routine work of the Pharmacy and recording any new donations received. The rest of the time needs to be spent on supervising and supporting pharmacists in the Centers. She/he should be able to manage a varied workload consisting of managerial and clinical roles.
II- Function responsibilities:
A- Storage conditions:
Ensure storage, classification and organization of drugs and material
Apply hygiene and security procedures: clean storage room, control pest and rodents
Make sure that temperature, humidity, light exposition are in accordance with products in the pharmacy especially ensure cold chain functioning and maintenance and ensure storage conditions
Cross checking and packing the General stock medicine orders prior to delivery to the Centers
Controlling medicine levels and drug storage conditions/ensuring that no expired medicines are sent to the Centers
Helping to make decisions and follow up any issues in a timely manner
Assisting with the maintenance and improvement of operation systems, cost systems, documentation, general procedures and overall pharmacy operation
Liaising with the Projects Coordinators and providing necessary information
Answering any queries medical or pharmacy staff may have
B-Stock management:
Ensure efficient management of the stock (limited waste and time-period out of stock)
Follow-up movements of drugs and material (entry, exit, destinations)
Follow-up expired drugs and destroyed material, quantification and their destruction
Carry out regular physical inventories (at least one before each order)
Ensure the operationally/ follow-up of emergency boxes and medical kits
C- Order reception:
In collaboration with logistic department, ensure the good course of the drug order reception and its storage
Check the adequacy between orders and reception and quantify the damaged drugs and material
D- Supply to the centers:
Ensure an efficient supply of Amel centers with continuity, in keeping track, and in accordance with supply procedures
Participate to the supervision of peripheral projects storage facilities
Monitor, analyze the orders of the centers and pass information to the hierarchic referent.
On a monthly basis, in each center supervising stock, checking medicines storage conditions, expiry dates, stock books, checking stock levels held
E- Orders:
Provide accurate data (entry-exit), inventories and consumption follow-up database to facilitate efficient drugs and material orders
Based on these data, make relevant assumptions on drugs and material consumption of the different health structures
F- Reporting / Other:
Participate in the development of the plan of action
Report immediately to the technical referent any problem arising in the service, especially the loss/ robbery/damage of medical equipment or medicines
Write monthly reports including figures, statistics, and needs for each center

Qualifications / Experience /Skills
Paramedical background: Qualified pharmacist, or nurse …
Good spoken and written English, as well as medical and business English.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel, use of internet based medical databases).
Able to resource appropriate medicines information to queries and utilize it to reach an appropriate solution appropriate to an NGO environment. This involves being able to competently perform internet searches of medical sites, assess medical literature and interpret medical statistics.
Flexible – the role of the pharmacist will involve new activities and new roles.
The pharmacist should also be self-motivated, enthusiastic, resourceful, and able to self-reflect on their experiences, co-operative, flexible, friendly and be willing to accept responsibility.
