Session Rapporteur

Frontiers Ruwad is a non-profit and apolitical NGO that aims at enhancing the human rights of marginalized groups in Lebanon. Its main programs focus on forced migration and statelessness. There are estimated to be tens of thousands of stateless persons in Lebanon who do not hold any nationality.  The causes of statelessness are multiple and vary between historical roots and administrative practice. One significant cause is failure to access birth registration procedures. The objective of the project "Capacity Building and Legal Aid Project for Stateless Persons" is to improve access to birth registration and to birth documentation thereby preventing statelessness and protecting children.  The project has two components: Capacity Building and Legal Aid. The Capacity Building component will sensitize those involved in the birth registration procedure as to the importance of birth registration and its links to nationality and statelessness. The Legal Aid component will provide legal advice and representation to stateless persons relating to the right to documentation and nationality. Frontiers Ruwad is organizing a series at workshops in different locations in Lebanon starting August 2014 and is looking for professional short term Rapporteur for the sessions, as per the description below. Responsibilities include: Take minutes of presentations and discussions during session Present summary of key conclusions and recommendations at the end of session Write full report on the sessions in Arabic and English Other requirements:  Experience in acting as a Rapporteur Experience in drafting reports  Ability to integrate and summarize ideas in an analytical manner Good public speaking skills Good communication skills Excellent drafting skills in Arabic and English Excellent typing skills in Arabic and English
