Outreach Worker Cmam

Assignment: Actively participate in screening, referral and community-based follow-up of children under 5 within the implementing areas. Participate into nutrition and psychosocial activities run at Primary Health Center level Required skills: Sense of confidentiality – Skilled activity leader - Good listening, good communication and adaptation capacity – Good relations with people – Have good empathy and be patient- Fluent English or French highly appreciate. Have a minimum knowledge on infant and young child care practices, acute malnutrition and have the capacity and motivation to learn more in a short space of time.    Objective 1: Participate to the identification of implementing sites to establish treatment of acute malnutrition Activities In coordination with the CMAM Field officer: -          run PHC assessment (identification of needs and gaps) -          identify PHC staff training needs -          identify stakeholder working in the same area   Objective 2: Community based activities Activities -          Run screening for the children under 5, lactating and pregnant women through supervision visit -          Refer cases suffering of acute malnutrition in a timely and efficient manner -          Run home visit for absent and defaulters of the nutrition program   Objective  3 : Primary Health Center activities Activities : -          Participate in the training of the PHC staf -          To assist in the set-up training programme for health staff -          To participate and monitor trainings for health staff -          To assist health staff in setting-up and opening the nutrition centers -          Ensure that referral system between PHC and community based activities is properly working -          Participate into the daily management of nutrition activities at PHC level on request (screening, awareness sessions, growth monitoring…)   Objective 4: Reporting Activities -          Participate to creation/revision of project tools -          Realize a weekly and monthly report -          Participate to external reports if needed -          Ensure coordination with partners on the field on request of the supervisors     Due to the emergency context, the outreach workers can be requested to participate to any other nutrition, mental health and care practices activities who could be identify according to the beneficiaries needs and the humanitarian situation
