Who are we
DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.

About the job
In 2014, DRC is introducing the ‘Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Knowledge’ (MEAK) – aiming to streamline data into the project management cycle at the field office level. DRC is inviting local candidates to apply for the position of DatabaseAssistant (MEAK) to support the MEAK project implementation in Tripoli, Lebanon.
Duties
Under the direction of the M&E Manager, the Database Assistant works as a part of the M&E team to design/develop, test, maintain, support and improve the database and database management systems.
Obtain, compile and analyze data from on the program indicators, and disseminate in appropriate formats for improving the programmatic decision making and planning process;
Enhance and build capacities of partners and other DRC staff (when deemed necessary) in terms of data base management, data cleaning, and analysis for programmatic decision making through on-going support and trainings.
About you
To be successful in this role you must have A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or relevant field with significant professional experienceworking in emergency, development, community, or social work sectors;
Ideally you will also have Experience with ODK data collection/coding and FormhubGood understanding of INGOs;Strong skills in database systems (PostgreSQL, SQL server, MySQL) as well in designing and using FileMaker applications;Basic understanding of data security and encryption tools,Training and capacity development experience.

An interesting job in one of theworld’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a2 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from August 2014 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli-Lebanon.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at levelB1, equivalent to a basic salary of $ 1180 per month.
