Special Education Expert

IECD (Institut Europeen de Cooperation et de Development) is looking for an expert in the adaptation of vocational trainings and productive workshops for people with special need, to assist in the creation of activities linked to the BRIDGES Project. The project is set to last 18months. Background of the project The fragility of the Lebanese labor market and its high unemployment rate has led to the launch of the BRIDGES (Bridging Reinforced Integration through Development of Guidance, Employment and Skills) Project. Its aim is to increase the employability of young people in Lebanon, specifically those most vulnerable. This will be done by developing their hard skills, soft skills and improving their access to industry information through orientation and employment fairs. The Foyer de la Providence and its two entities: Mosaik, a specialized school and Trait d'Union, a resource center will be implicated.   Project The BRIDGES project is split on two axes, the once of concern to the expert is the vocational training and protected workshop axis for people with learning or physical disabilties. Both will be created in the objective of providing employment opportunities to populations at risk – those with learning difficulties or marginalized by society. Five vocational trainings will be adapted or created from scratch to provide an opportunity for the beneficiaries to develop their technical skills in an environment adapted to their specific needs. Three protected workshops will focus on providing on the job training to persons whose difficulties prevent them from enrolling in Vocational Training or marginalized adults. In parallel, 10 soft skills sessions will be organized to complement the technical skills being acquired either from the vocational trainings or the productive workshops.   Tasks/Deliverables Other than sharing their experience in the field and serving as a reference point, the expert will assist in the below tasks: -          Based on the mapping of what currently exists in the field in terms of establishments/institutions (ongoing), help to identify:  the Vocational training to be adapted/created, taking into consideration the labor market needs/ type of beneficiaries involved / their abilities and interests, the Productive Workshops to be created, taking into consideration the labor market needs/ type of beneficiaries involved / their abilities and interests making sure they will be economically viable and sustainable -          Adaptation of content and material for vocational training (with help of an occupational therapist) -          Adaptation of content and material for protected workshop(with help of an occupational therapist) -          Creation of guideline manuals for all trainings and workshops -          Creation of content and delivery of Training of Trainers
