Purpose of the Training Consultancy
The purpose fo the training is to enchance Concern's protection teams knowledge of the relationship between gendered identities and roles thus enabling them to provide awareness raising sessions in relation to men and masculinities to Concern’s protection programme participants.
Timeline - Training course during the month of August. The length of the training session will depend on the topics covered but should not be less than 2 days nor more than 5. The specific dates to be confirmed by the Protection Programme Manager.
Terms of Reference
Prepare a training for Concern’s protection staff. Provide the training plan and material in English to the Protection Manager a minimum of two weeks prior to the training, for feedback and subsequently include agreed upon changes. Training sessions to include (but not limited to) Specifically:
How gendered identities increases the level of violence in communities.
How gendered identities impacts mens capacity to express their emotions in a pro-social way.
How gendered identities obstructs mens relationships, specifically with women and children in their family.
How men and women can benefit from alternative roles and identities, with a particular emphasis on men.
Develop participants broader understanding of violence to include emotional violence etc.
2. Implement the training with 20 Concern employees in Arabic (in an engaging, memorable and participatory manner).
Essential Skills, Qualifications, Experience Required
On-going professional development as evidenced by increased work-related responsibility, continuing education, and/or participation in professional organizations.
Minimum 5 years working experience specifically within conflict resolution.
Fluent in English, and Arabic.
