Child Protection Psychosocial Officer

BACKGROUND: The International Rescue Committee is an international organization specializing in Emergency and humanitarian programming existing since 1933 and working in more than 40 countries. In response to the influx of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, the IRC started a Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) program and a Livelihood program in 2012 with program strategies implemented in various locations in the Northern and Beka’a Governorates. IRC is now complementing their response with a Child Protection (CP) program. SCOPE OF WORK: The CP Psychosocial (PSS) Officer will be responsible to manage the overall Psychosocial program in Mount Lebanon and provide technical support to field assistants and para PSS workers. The CP PSS Officer will be responsible for the supervision and support of the basic PSS and targeted PSS activities in the community, at the partner, etc. The CP PSS will support the development of PSS material for children and parents and will provide the training and coaching to his/hers PSS team. The PSS Officer ensures regular monitoring and on site coach visits, for the children needed targeted and specialized PSS activities work closely with the Case Management (CM) team.   Position objectives: Coordinate the psychosocial team and ensure that their work is according to guideline and standards Provide technical support to the psychosocial team through training and coaching Who this position reports to:  CP Manager   RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Participate in the development of the CP Psychosocial wellbeing baseline tool and support its implementation Participate in the development of the PSS material for children and parents Develop training plan for the PSS team  Facilitate and co- facilitate training for the PSS team and IRC CP partner Participate in the identification of volunteer para-PSS worker and  the development of their coaching plan Ensure that the PSS activities taking place in the communities and the settlement respond to the need Provide strong technical support in the delivery of PSS programs, especially targeted and specialized PSS activities for children showing signs of PSS distress Ensure the correct implementation of the outreach strategy based for CP service delivery at the house hold level for Psychosocial activities Work closely with the Senior Case Workers Facilitate the PSS weekly meeting Participate in the development of lesson learned and best practices Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of the program   Grant Monitoring & Reporting Develop weekly and monthly plan for the PSS worker  and para PSS  worker Revise and compile weekly PSS worker report Ensure that all relevant financial documentation is completed accurately as required by IRC finance policy.   Coordination & Representation Attend CP coordination meeting when required Liaise and collaborate with other PSS actors when required Maintain positive coordination and relationships with partner and other IRC sector staff.   Other Ensure activities are done in accordance with IRC logistics policy and in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs; Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs   Professional Standards All IRC staff is required to adhere to THE IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct and the IRC country employment policies.
