We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who has the skills to engage in our organization as a Data Analyst. Who are we?DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• Undertaking analysis of existing assessment and M&E data collected over the project cycle – both DRC and Interagency; • Transform, validate, and model the existing data for future use by program staff and identify gaps where primary data needs to be collected; • Applying appropriate statistical principles, identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in these complex datasets; • Develop graphs, reports, maps, and presentations of data and analytical results for distribution within and outside DRC; • Data/statistical review of previous evaluations and lessons learned reports relevant to the DRC Newcomers program, particularly the winter unconditional cash transfer program; • Presentation on data analysis methodology and process to Evaluation Manager and Steering Committee, including modifying/changing proposed methodology based on feedback. About youTo be successful in this role you must have: • An advanced university degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Statistics, Social Studies, Economics, other related field.• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience and proven expertise in development and/or humanitarian sector in monitoring, data analysis, or research/evaluation.• Experience carrying out quantitative data analysis/research and using statistical software packages such as Stata/SPSS or other statistical software programs.• An excellent analytical and synthesis skill with demonstrated experience applying these skills in an emergency response context is essential.• Ideally you will also have familiarity with DRC and/or Syria emergency response, although this is not essential. You must be available to start work from July 2014 and be willing and able to work in Beirut.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals.
