Protection Monitoring Assistant - Zahle

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to coordinate and collaborate with the other protection team.   Who are we DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade , running a combination of livelihood , protection ,advocacy and relief projects .DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Syria , Tunisia/Libya , Turkey , and both a country and regional office in Jordan . Since May 2011, DRC has been actively involved in the Lebanon emergency response to the Syrian crisis with presence in the North, East (Bekaa valley) and South of Lebanon. . The DRC response is designed around 4 majors sectors: Food /NFI distribution,Protection , Shelter and livelihood support . As such, DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of UNHCR , UNICEF , WFP , ECHO and DANIDA , implying a rapid expansion of its program and structure.   For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the job You will carry out daily field visits and conduct Focus Group discussions/participatory/assessments/rapid protection assessment Duties Monitor protection risks and needs in areas identified in coordination with UNHCR, protection monitoring agencies and partners; Organize and ensure data collection on a daily basis related to protection monitoring in selected areas; Work to build up a key informant network to monitor specific protection needs; Work with refugee committees and ensure consultations with them in all the phases of the project implementation; Provide information to beneficiaries relating to service provision in Area of responsability, whether DRC services or services provided by other agencies; Refer serious protection cases to DRC protection or other specialised agencies for follow up and assistance; Contribute to the overall protection/CS weekly and monthly report underlining protection issues and related trends and figures in coordination with the Protection officer.     About you To be successful in this role you must have bachelor degree in social work , political science , law..Able to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times; excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility,Flexible in working overtime when needed, fluent  in Arabic , also , a minimum one year experience in related field   Ideally you will also have Master degree in Social work, Counselling, psychology or other related field, excellent reporting skills, previous experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings, previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon We offer An interesting job in one of theworld’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a6 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 3rd of July 2014 and be willing and able to work in Zahle. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level B1, equivalent to1180 USD per month.
