We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated Psychosocial Support (PSS) Assistant to conduct household visits in order to provide new comer families and their children with psychosocial support, including information on available services, registration at UNHCR, key protection messages and basic psychological first aid (PFA). Assess and identify cases and make timely and safe referrals to protection, GBV and child protection teams, as appropriate. Ensure follow up as required in South Lebanon.

About the job
Conduct household visits in order to provide newcomer families and their children with psychosocial support, including information on available services, registration at UNHCR, key protection messages and basic psychological first aid (PFA). Assess and identify cases and make timely and safe referrals to protection, GBV and child protection teams, as appropriate.
Duties
Carry out daily household visits to newcomer families;
Provide information to beneficiaries relating to service provision in Area of responsibility, whether DRC services or services provided by other agencies;
Keep up to date on service mapping in AoR;
Provide basic psychological first aid and key protection messages to newcomer families;
Assess and identify protection cases and make appropriate and safe referrals (such as separation of family members, security, sexual and gender-based violence, etc.) as well as follow up on referrals;
Contribute to the overall weekly and monthly report underlining protection issues and related trends and figures in coordination with the PSS officer.
About you
To be successful in this role you must have
Bachelor/Degree in Social work, political science, law or other related field;
Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of Refugees at all times;
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
Flexibility in working overtime when needed;
Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel);
Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well Ability to engage with community members in an open manner, maintain confidentiality and respect.
Fluency in Arabic required.
Ability to communicate in English and write reports in English strongly preferred.
We offer
An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a six month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work asap and be willing and able to work in South.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level B1, equivalent to 1,180 USD per month.
