For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the job The Safety Officer will assist the HoO in the South of Lebanon with developing, implementing and evaluating the DRC Risk Management System (RMS) in order to support the safe and efficient delivery of programme activities. The SO is supervised in a technical capacity by the Safety Advisor (SA) and technically supported by the Lebanon Safety Coordinator (LSC).  Note: These are mentored position, strong potential to become a safety professional will be consider in lieu of experience. Duties Represent the organization when liaising with the local administrations: Assess Risk and Threat Levels for the South of Lebanon Ensure the South is compliant with the DRC global MOSS, as well as any specific enhanced MOSS requirements (based on the RA) Ensure all staff are briefed on the LSR and receive a copy Assist in the development of context-specific contingency plans Act as the primary representative for DRC on safety and access related matters in the South Maintain detailed soft and hard copy files of all relevant safety documents Monitor the overall situation and provide regular situation reports, based on the SLS Provide staff with relevant and concise safety related information and analysis, both through external and internal reports, publications, etc Coordinate the submission of Safety Incident Reports and ensure that all SIRs are completed within 48 hours of an incident occurring Conduct post-incident inquiries, if required, and monitor compliance with action points on SIRs Ensure an up-to-date visitor briefing package is provided to all visitors and international staff Conduct safety briefings for all visitors and international staff at the office and field level Provide briefings on thematic and specific issues, as requested by the SA or LSC.   About you To be successful in this role you must have Tertiary education (Bachelor minimum) in communication, politics, risk or other related field 1 – 3 Experience working with NGOs, other international agencies or multinational business Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Stable, moral and robust character and a good team-player Excellent communication skills and calm Proven commitment to accountability practices Strong information technology skills Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic   We offer An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a six month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work asap and be willing and able to work in South. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
